What’s currently happening in our country, in the West Philippine Sea specifically, is not to be joked about. Our lives could be critical at any moment. Being active around political and social issues, and spreading the news is the least thing that we can do. We should be aware of what is happening to our country, as Filipinos. The louder we speak, the more are aware. This is still a territorial dispute.
Not every citizen has the luxury of fleeing to another country if the worst-case scenario, such as war, unfolds. As concerned citizens of the Philippines, we should all be alarmed. Now is the time to be fully educated and aware. Considering the precarious state of poverty for many, the implications of any conflict are even more dire.
West Philippine Sea is our territory and we must assert our claim. What’s ours is ours. Speak louder and hear the voices of the fellow Filipinos. Protecting the West Philippine Sea is not just a duty but a responsibility we all share as Filipinos.
This is a National issue and we are the ones who can only depend on and help each other. Depending on and trusting other countries may not guarantee our security; instead, it could lead us into a pitiable situation once again.
Learn about what’s happening. Educate yourself about the current events in the West Philippine Sea. These waters are rich in resources that are crucial for our country, right now we’re limited to those natural resources unlike before. By giving away control over the West Philippine Sea, we would inadvertently bolster China’s power, potentially leading to further territorial encroachment.
We should defend our properties, our lands, and ourselves. No one should take what is ours. This is our identity. Atin ang West Philippine Sea.
No matter how big or small your platform is, spread, raise awareness, and be the voice of our nation. Louden your voices. This is our right.
